Community Engagement

How We Show Up

Engaging with our local communities is core to GEICO's culture of caring. For decades, GEICO has partnered with our associates, along with non-profit organizations, to provide resources and support programs that strengthen communities across the country.

To date, the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation has donated to numerous charities, raising funds for the United Way, National Urban League, Dress for Success, and many more.

Through GEICO Cares, GEICO associates strengthen connections with their communities by volunteering at local events and participating in initiatives across the country.

Our Commitment in Action

Confidence in Clothing: Associates from GEICO Volunteer with Dress for Success

In recognition of Women's History Month, associates from GEICO's offices in Houston, Texas, and Fredericksburg, Virginia volunteered at Dress for Success affiliate locations. During the two days of service, associates donated and assembled over 300 'Success Bags' filled with toiletries and stationery which were distributed to women to set them up for success on their new career journeys.

Over the past decade, the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation has partnered with Dress for Success on a number of meaningful initiatives. What began as support for scholarships and certifications has expanded to include clothing drives and fundraising initiatives. Today, GEICO serves as the lead sponsor of Women Who Inspire—an event that brings together corporate executives, thought leaders, media, and social influencers to honor the extraordinary women of Dress for Success. These remarkable individuals have overcome significant challenges and forged inspiring career paths, embodying the spirit of resilience and achievement.

Dress for Success is a leading global nonprofit for unemployed and underemployed women. For over 26 years, the organization has been at the forefront of women's economic development through no-fee career development, job skills preparedness, mentoring and coaching, financial education, and professional attire services.

From Student to Volunteer: How One GEICO Associate Gave Back to Her Former Elementary School

For National Volunteer month, GEICO associates in Macon, Georgia, distributed over 500 shoes to students at Panola Way Elementary School in Lithonia, Georgia, through the company's partnership with Shoes That Fit.

When presented with the opportunity, GEICO Service Manager Ahyuana Stinson raised her hand to lend her service to the cause. “I grew up as a Panola Way Panther, and Lithonia has always been my home,” said Stinson. "My parents still live in the area, just two traffic lights away from the school.”

Throughout her more than two at decades at GEICO, Stinson is proud to have been named the No. 1 Manager in Auto Service in the country in 2024; she's a mentor, and a people's champion - helping associates discover the impact being at GEICO creates beyond their day-to-day jobs.

"I know that volunteering doesn't just benefit the community - it builds stronger teams, fosters purpose, and deepens the associate experience," says Stinson. "When people give back together, they grow together."

Stinson and other associates made a meaningful difference for more than 650 students at the metro Atlanta elementary school. “One of the little boys said that this was his first new pair of shoes he's ever gotten,” said Stinson. As a “thank you,” students filled a reception area -- formerly the principal's office as Stinson recalls -- with cards of gratitude for the associates who volunteered. Stinson has collected the cards and is currently adding them to the wall of inspiration at the Macon office.

Foster Love

Hearts in Action: GEICO Associates Bring Hope to Children Through Foster Love

This summer, associates across the country took part in a heartwarming day of community service to help bring comfort and joy to children navigating the foster care system.

For seven years, GEICO has partnered with Foster Love, to help support the non-profit's mission to improve the foster care experience for more than 400,000 youth coast-to-coast. GEICO associates came together to help make a lasting impact by supporting Foster Love’s mission to ensure every child feels seen, supported, and valued.

Associates assembled, decorated and filled “Foster Love Sweet Cases” and packed birthday and superhero themed boxes, which are designed to uplift kids, ages 10 and younger.

“Volunteering with Foster Love is more than giving back - it's about showing children in foster care that they are valued and never forgotten,” said Jessica Jones, GEICO's Associate Engagement Manager. “We're all leaders, and when we step up and serve, we not only inspire action but also reflect the kind of representation that proves every voice matters and every child deserves to be seen.”

GEICO Associates Geared Up to Give for Annual 'I Am Ready' Campaign

Ahead of the new school year, GEICO associates came together to donate, pack, and distribute essential school supplies to support students as part of GEICO's annual, 'I Am Ready' back-to-school campaign. Since 2021, GEICO associates have filled more than 80,000 backpacks with school supplies students need to succeed.

Associates countrywide helped distribute backpacks with new school supplies to communities and students in need.

“Watching the kids light up as they receive their backpacks is a powerful reminder of how even a small act of generosity can create a lasting impact,” said Rina Parrilla, GEICO's Virginia Beach Site Logistics Coordinator.
